- 1X2
- A betting market where you pick one of three possible match results: a home win, a draw, or an away win.
- Accumulator
- A single bet that links multiple selections; all of them must win for you to receive a payout.
- Arb
- Short for arbitrage; a situation where you bet on all possible outcomes across different bookmakers to guarantee a profit.
- Asian Handicap
- A spread that gives one team a virtual head start or deficit, eliminating the draw option and adjusting payouts.
- Asian Line
- A betting line using half-goal or quarter-goal spreads to avoid the draw and balance the odds.
- Bankroll
- The total amount of money you have set aside for placing bets.
- BTTS
- A wager on whether both competing teams will score at least one goal during the match.
- Cash Out
- A feature that lets you settle a bet before the event ends, locking in a profit or cutting a loss.
- Correct Score
- A bet on the exact final score of a match, such as 2-1 or 3-0.
- Cover
- Winning a bet when the chosen team beats the assigned handicap margin.
- Double Chance
- A bet that covers two of the three possible match outcomes, increasing your chance of winning.
- Draw No Bet
- A bet that returns your stake if the match ends in a draw, otherwise you win if your chosen team wins.
- Dutching
- Spreading your stake across multiple outcomes in the same event to ensure a profit regardless of which one wins.
- Handicap
- A virtual advantage or disadvantage given to a team to make the betting more even.
- HT/FT
- A bet that requires you to predict the result at both half-time and full-time of the match.
- In-Play
- Betting on a match while it is already in progress, with odds that update as the game unfolds.
- Juice
- The commission or fee a bookmaker adds to the odds, built into the betting lines.
- Kelly Criterion
- A mathematical formula that calculates the optimal fraction of your bankroll to wager based on your perceived edge.
- Lay
- To bet against an outcome happening, typically offered on betting exchanges.
- Margin
- The bookmaker's built-in profit margin, embedded in the odds to ensure they have an edge.
- Odds
- Numbers that reflect the likelihood of an outcome and determine how much you can win relative to your stake.
- Over/Under
- A bet on whether the total number of goals scored in a match will be higher or lower than a set figure.
- Stake
- The amount of money you put on a particular bet.
- Value Bet
- A selection where the odds offered are higher than the true probability of the outcome, indicating a potential advantage.
- Yield
- The net profit from bets expressed as a percentage of the total amount wagered.
